Hi Shell,

I'd suggest you go for a starter kit, which will have a few simple patterns, some basic tools and instructions to get you started. The starter kit here: http://www.art-of-craft.co.uk/acatalog/ ... _Kits.html is really good.

You will probably need at least one size of embossing tool, a single needle pricking tool, a white pen or pencil to trace the designs, and obviously some parchment!

There is a monthly magazine called Parchment Craft which is very good, although many of the projects in it will be beyond beginner level, but it's great for some inspiration. And if you live close enough to the shop to come to classes, there's an excellent parchment tutor here, although it's worth booking her classes early as they get full very quickly.

Hope that helps,

Aunty Wendy

One way of starting Parchment if you have a PC is My Craft Studio Parchment Delights - you print onto printable parchment, then emboss and use pricking tools on the image. Good for starting out. Saw it on Create and Craft Channel on TV.

I don't own it myself but I do have loads of the other My Craft Studio CD-Roms and they are really easy to use.
