This week’s card of the week is made by the wonderful John Lockwood – lots of lovely ideas to be found on his blog www. johnnextdoor.blogspot.co.uk

Instructions:

Firstly cut a piece of white foundation card to measure 17.1 x 42 cm and fold in half to make your card blank,

Cut a piece of white card to measure 16.8 x 20.6 cm and another piece to measure 16.6 x 20.3 cm.

Using JNDEF3001 Star Stream emboss the smaller piece of white card for your background.

Cut YCD10114 in white card and then cut a frame by cutting the two rectangles measuring 12.8 x 16.5 and 9.6 x 13.5 together. Cut a piece of acetate to measure 12 x 15cm and use this behind the scene and frame to create a front for your shaker card.

The background has been made using pigment inks and masking fluids – see John’s blog for details of how to create this (or make your own version using gilding polish for example)

Layer the white panel and embossed background to the front of the card. Using foam tape attach the frame to the centre of embossed panel – leave the top edge open so that you can add the snow and then seal the top.

Run round the outer edges of the frame with glue and add more snow.

Cut a couple of snowflakes from CTDI7039, glue the fronts and add snow – attach these to opposite corners of the frame.

Finish with pearls in the corners
