🌈 Card of the Week – Watercolour Striped Birthday Card🎂
This week’s featured card is a stunning Watercolour Striped Birthday Card crafted by the talented John Lockwood. Using the Memory Box Birthday Die set, John combines vibrant watercolours with elegant design for a truly eye-catching creation. Even better – he’s made a full demonstration video and written instructions so you can create your own!
Written Instructions
Take a piece of watercolour or similar card cut to 5” x 7”
Starting at one edge colour a stripe of red watercolour Brush Pen from Craft Artist down
the side of the card, repeat this with each colour in turn until the sheet is covered, leave
a little white between each stripe so it doesn’t look too manufactured and more rustic
Cut the fine Happy and Birthday dies form the resultant piece roughly where the words
will be placed on the finished card
Cut the larger backers for the Happy and Birthday words dies in white and mount the
coloured words on top of these
Adhere, using Craft Artist 3D Glue Gel, the backed words over the die cut holes to add
depth and dimension
Mat and layer onto a piece of white cut to 5 ¼” x 7 ¼” add a thin mat of red and place
onto a 6” x 8” card blank
A simple yet effective card for any birthday, add other decorative die cuts /
embellishments depending on the age of the receiver.
